By their shape and condition they tell us their own stories...
But it does not matter how much they went trough, all of them deserve attention and care.
It all started with a single pen I bought accidently at an antique store. That was well over 3 years ago and I would never have expected that this particular Soennecken 504 fountain pen would change so much in my life.
I bought it for a few reasons:
- it was made of beautifull green celluloid
- it had nice "bird" on the derby
- it was in very good condition
- it costed approx. 8 USD
After I got back home I started to do some research on the internet. With every single piece of information I started realizing that this was a "jackpot" purchase. I mean, buying any kind of vinatge fountain pen for only 8 USD, can not be a loss . And if it's about the knowledge it can deliver - it's always a winning situation.
I was quickly drawn into the subject of fountain pens. From that point, it was was my main googling phrase.
I started my collection by purchasing pens all around the world. Soon after, my collection got pretty big and I realized that the single purchase for 8 USD changed into quite expensive hobby. Let's Be honest - how often you can get vintage fountain pen for only 8 bucks?
I started looking for oportunities to make this addiction at least a little bit cheaper. I studied a lot about fountain pen anatomy and restoration and decide to take on this challenge.
I was very surprised that this wasn't only the way to save some money on this hobby but it gaved me a lot of fun as well! A lot of new knowledge and even more respect towards history of writing instruments.
Some time passed and my collection was demanding more and more space. I admire all fountain pens but after some time I was simply forced to reduce amount of what I was keeping.
I made selection and I put some objects on the market again. I sold them very quickly with satisfaction from both sides. That made me keep on posting some pens for sale from time to time.
It came to a point where I needed to decide exactly what I wanted to collect, since my space as well as budget were limited.
Lucky those who have can afford to collect everything.
For almost 2 years now, my heart belongs to the norwegian brand Pan Pen. Probably after a while most of us go back to home ground. I do keep all Big Ben, Penol and Hoover pens too, as they are danish brands and represents scandinavian fountain pens production. Sometimes I have more than one example of a certain model and then it goes back on sale.
Hope you are going to enjoy visiting this webside while hunting for some vintage fountain pens and pencils.
